Winning relationship-TEAM INDIA
We all are aware of how M.S.Dhoni & Gary Kirsten has lifted Team India to a greater height by making it No.1 in Test ranking & world champions in 50-50 ODI world cup recently. Other leader who helped Team India to achieve this greatest height is John Wright, who forged a winning relationship with Team India, lead by former Team India captain  Sourav Ganguly. Main traits of a leader to forge winning relationship & getting success is to nurture trust, respect, love, fairness, which is reflected in the action & behaviour of the leaders. How skillfull, talented, dynamic, intelligent a leader is, it will not guarantee success unless the leader is a good human being with integrity and high moral values and having traits like love, compassion, trust, respect. If we study the traits of John Wright & Gary Kirsten as a leader , we find both of them as a good human being first. This is the reason, why the two have been able to add value to Team India by forging a winning relationship. But, in case of Greg Chappel, it was not visible, though he was more talented & dynamic cricketer. He just created nuisance because of his behaviour & eroded the value of Team India.
Corporate leaders must learn from these two leaders & nurture human values desired to forge winning relationship. They should nurture & inculcate the traits like love, compassion, integrity, empathy, caring. They should encourage employees to live by the vision, mission & core values of the organisation. Every action & behaviour of a corporate leader must be in consonance with the core values of the organisation. In corporate world the leaders with selfish , self centered mindset are mostly idolized. They just create nuisance instead of adding value to the organisation. Such type of leaders can not inspire their followers, because they are not respected as a human being. As a result,  they bring disrepute, resulting into erosion of stakeholder value. An organisation whose main objective is to just make money & grow cannot survive long, because this comes out of exploitative mindset, ignoring the other stakeholder value. Tatas are respected because they live by their values in true sense. They don't compromise with their values & principles. Infosys is the most respected I .T service provider company, because they live by their values, they are not just for making money.
So, business leaders must learn how to build winning relationship from Team India. By doing so they will be able to  bring enduring success to the organisation & will be able to add value to the organisation as well as to the society.

Leadership & moral values

Leaders with narrower perception about life , people & the world cannot drive the organization or society or nation to a greater height. They are always driven by their ego & always behave or act to satisfy their own vested interest, instead of the interest of the organization, society or nation. They do more harm to the organization, society, or nation by their unmindful act or behaviour. There are lot of examples in our society who have achieved so called success by virtue of their manipulative character. Such type of leaders are not concerned with ethics & values & they act & behave in a way to satisfy their interest only. They are not concerned with the larger interest. Organisation runs & thrive on the basis of the mutual trust & faith of the employees. Management has to strive to inculcate a culture of trust & faith among the employees. Then, respect among the employees will automatically come. Respect is earned by virtue of one’s behaviour & action. Leader's mind should not be so narrow to think that they should command respect by virtue of their high status, possession of wealth & possession of authority. Such type of thinking will drive a leader towards wrong doing. By such behaviour, the leader loses respect of followers. As a result the leader fails to inspire the followers for achieving the goal. Mutual trust & respect  creates a strong bonding amongst the employees, which in turn facilitates team work. In such case, the joy & fruits of any achievement is shared by all, which does not create discontentment. Such type of culture helps reducing the employee turnout. Money is not the main criteria for switching jobs. Whenever, any employee feels  discontented because of unfairness, injustice, discrimination in the system, they think of switching jobs. So, Leader's focus should be to foster a culture of trust & respect.  Leader’s moral values, ethics, his perception about life , people & the world will determine how he can foster this culture for making a congenial work environment & make winning relationship.
