Devastative Earthquake & Tsunami in Japan

The earthquake in Japan on Friday 11-03-2011 of 8.9 magnitude on Rictor scale followed by Tsunami is one of the worst disaster in Japan’s history., causing loss of lives & huge property.

This has happened due to the movement of massive Tectonic plates. Japan is located in the “Ring of Fire”, which is essentially an arc that stretches along the basin of the pacific ocean. The tectonic plates are on the move and when they hit each other, it builds a pressure, then pressure releases, causing earthquake and the rising seabed triggers Tsunami. The Japan Earthquake is estimated to have generated energy that was roughly equivalent to the energy the US consumes in a year, according to Seismologist David Wald –

Car A/C & cancer

Please do NOT turn on A/C as soon as you enter the car.  Open the windows after you enter your car and then turn ON the AC after a couple of minutes.
    Here's why:
According to research, the car dashboard, seats, air freshener emit Benzene, a Cancer causing toxin (carcinogen - take time to observe the smell of heated plastic in your car).
In addition to causing cancer, Benzene poisons your bones, causes anemia and reduces white blood cells. Prolonged exposure will cause Leukemia, increasing the risk of cancer. Can also cause miscarriage.
Acceptable Benzene level indoors is 50mg per sq.ft.  A car parked indoors with windows closed will contain 400-800 mg of Benzene.
If parked outdoors under the sun at a temperature above 60 degrees F, the Benzene level goes up to 2000-4000 mg, 40 times the acceptable level.
People who get into the car, keeping windows closed will inevitably inhale, in quick succession, excessive amounts of the toxin.
Benzene is a toxin that affects your kidney and liver.. What's worse, it is extremely difficult for your body to expel this toxic stuff.
So friends, please open the windows and door of your car - give time for interior to air out -dispel the deadly stuff - before you enter.
Thought: 'When someone shares something of value with you and you benefit from it, you have a moral obligation to share it with others.'
This is what snopes.com says. It is not the air conditioning in the car but the Benzene producing agents that cause cancer.

Mr. Narendra Modi the game changer:

February 3, 2017

Now the Nation started believing that they have found a great visionary leader, who can lift the Nation on the top of the world comity. In this connection, one Bengali patriotic song written by Bengali poet, lyricist Atul Prasad Sen. (20 October 1871 – 26 August 1934), is coming in my mind. Through this song, the poet proclaimed that one day India will again become Numero Uno in the world Comity.

The Lyrics of that song is“Bolo Bolo Sabe. Shata Bina Benu Rabe Bharat Abar Jagat Sabhay Shrestha Ashana Labe.” I don’t have any political affiliation. Frankly speaking before Mr. Narendra Modi became the Prime minister, I didn’t have a very good impression about him.  His character & personality what I have observed in the last two years or so has convinced me to admire & adore him & accept him as one of the greatest world leaders in making. His intention is very clear. To do good to the humankind. He candidly declared that I am not Pradhan Mantri, I am a Pradhan Sevak. This utterance has come out from his pure heart.  Influence of the Philosophy of the great saint & spiritual leader Swami Vivekananda is reflected in his every action & deed. He has nothing to lose. He is here to give back to the society & humankind. I would like to mention here one relevant quote of Swami Vivekananda. They alone live, who live for others”-Swami Vivekananda.” His humility & out of the box thinking has mesmerized & overwhelmed me. There are two types of leader on the Earth.  One is thought leader & another is action leader.

He is both thought as well as an action leader.  He speaks straight from his pure heart. He wants India to be a powerful nation both spiritually & materially. My earnest request to the honorable Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi is  to revamp the whole education system. We want to see all educated people who cares for others, who becomes happy by helping others. Then equity & justice will be established in the society. Hunger & poverty will be alleviated with ease.

For seeing this becoming true, more focus is to be given in developing the morality, ethics & values of the children. We want to see India as a nation where there will be no greed, Lust, arrogance, jealousy, selfishness, cruelty. There will only be love, respect, trust, humility, compassion, empathy, patience, perseverance, tolerance, equity & justice.

State of Education in India-A report card of decline

February 21, 2012

State of Education in  India:-

A report card of decline.

1)According to NGO Pratham’s Annual Status of Education Report nearly 47% of class 5th students cannot read class II texts, while over 63% of Class III students cannot subtract.                                                                                        2)Though enrolment in schools has increased due to Sarva Siksha Abhiyan, the educational standard has decreased due to allowing ill-trained teachers to run poorly equipped schools.                                3)Students in even our top schools learn by rote.                                                                              4)According to the report of Wipro’s Quality Education Study of India’s elite schools, learning levels are not on par with International Standards.                                                                                                            5)India has a shortage of 1.5 million teachers & several gaps in its education infrastructure according to Vinod Raina an Architect of Right to Education (RTE) Act.                                                                                6)As a matter of fact, many developed nation invest 9-10% of their GDP on education. But, according to OECD Research Paper in 2008-09 India’s spending on public education was 3.8% of GDP.

How to overcome these maladies: -

1)Like IIM’s, IIT’s, we have to invest in the infrastructure to produce quality Teacher’s training institute in every state, from where quality teacher’s will come out with degrees & diplomas & then appointed as teacher.                                                                                                                                                                2) Curriculum & exam system should be revamped to discourage Rote learning.                                   3)Equal & attrarctive remuneration has to be paid to the qualified teachers in all the states.                 4)With the introduction of latest technology & smart card physical presence of the teacher’s has to be captured electronically & absence of teachers are to be monitored.

Difference between http:// and https:// in web browsing

May 9, 2011
The main difference between http:// and https:// in web address is all about keeping your computer secured.
HTTP stands for Hyper Text Transfer protocol and "S" stands for secure. If you visit a website/webpage and look at the address in the web browser, it will likely begin with the http://.

This means that the website is talking to your browser using the regular 'insecure' language. In other words, it is possible for someone to "evesdrop" on your computer's conversation with the website. If you fill out a form on the website, someone might see the information you send to that site.
This is why you never enter your credit card number in a website address starts with http://.
But if the web address begins with https://, that basically means your computer is talking to the website in a secure code that no one can evesdrop on.

Now, if a website ever asks you to enter credit card information, you should automatically look to see if the web address begins with https://

Moral values & Scam

April 30, 2011

Scam has become the part & parcel of Indian Society. It has taken the root in the Indian Society. Every now & then some scams are exposed. Thanks to the RTI Act & watchfull media. Why these are happening? The reason being, we have become too much greedy. We are lacking moral values. We define our success in term s of making money & increasing our social status by amassing wealth only. Lack of value based education system in our country is leading to degradation of moral values in our society. We have become so greedy that we don’t hesitate to make money & amass wealth through unfair means. In  order to eradicate this evil from the root, education system is to be revamped & is to be focused on inculcating the moral values to our children. Spiritual organization has to play major role in this regard.

Our legal system has to be revamped so that the culprit is convicted within a shortest period of time. Thanks to the movement lead by Anna Hazare for the implementation of anti-corruption Lokpal Bill. The movement has gathered momentum. Hopefully, the bill will be passed by the 15th Aug'11. This will give teeth to punish the corrupt politicians & ministers, who are sucking the money of the people of India & amassing the wealth. There must also be a system to keep the tainted people with doubtful integrity & dubious character away from the political system. By doing so & eradicating illiteracy, we will be able to do justice to the people of India & prosper in the real sense, not in terms of GDP growth only.We need more Anna Hazare to make this country a beautiful place to live in, where the poverty, illiteracy, injustice will be eradicated forever.

Respect-N.R.Narayanamurthy

August 17, 2009

On studying the life & philosophy of great leaders, I am convinced about what differentiates between an ordinary leader & a great leader.

It is their philosophy of life which makes them greater.

I came across in an article, the philosophy of N.R.Narayana  Murthy, his philosophy about the respect .

While formulating the vision of Infosys, he has written  in his debut book, “A better India, A better world,” how seven of the Infosys founder member deliberated upon for over 4 hours, in a small bedroom in his Bombay apartment, to adopt , the vision of Infosys.

After a strong deliberation all the seven members accepted the vision as suggested by Mr. N.R.Narayana Murthy. He wanted to make Infosys the most respected software services company in the world. And he convinced others why he wants this vision to be adopted by saying, “If you seek respect, you will not short change your customers, You will be fair to your colleauges in the company, you will be transparent with your investors, you will treat your vendor partners with care and understanding. You will not violate the laws of the land in whichever country you operate & you will live in harmony in whichever society you operate in.”

He continued by saying, “My conviction is that  such a pursuit will bring revenues, jobs, profits, and market capitalisation.”

He added that all of them accepted this vsion as something larger than life and something inspirational to go after.

I am amused to learn the philosophy of Mr. N.R.Narayana  Murthy and convinced why his name was buzzing around as prospective & ideal candidate for the post of President of India after the Tenure of Mr. A. P.J. Abdul Kalam was due to complete.

We need such leaders who can transform the society with their vision & sacrifice.

He is a great mentor that is evident from the fact that another great leader like Mr. Nandan Lilekani has emerged who has resigned from Infosys Board to join the govt project for issuing identity card to all citizen of India.

This is called the sacrifice for a greater cause. Hats off to Mr. Murthy for mentoring & instilling such greatness among the Infoscians.

Become a good human being, share your wealth for a great cause:-

May 25, 2009

Become a good human being, share your wealth for a great cause:-

Our action & behavior is the reflection of our thought, perceptions about life & people, our philosophy of life. If our philosophy of life, our perceptions about life and people are good our actions & behavior will also be good. Good values are imbibed. Love, compassion, understanding, caring, supporting, humility, respectfulness, integrity, fairness, kindness etc. are the few positive attributes which makes a person a good human being.

One must have passion for sacrificing for a great cause.

These attributes makes a person richer & greater than any other person possessing wealth & status but devoid of such values.

Most of us define success in terms of acquiring wealth, status & try to flaunt it.

Acquiring wealth with rightful means is not wrong. But flaunting of wealth is wrong. Great people like Warren Buffett, Narayana Murthy has always maintained the simplicity in spite of possessing wealth. They are donating their wealth for a great cause for the upliftment of the human being.

There are so many billionaire business tycoon, who are busy in flaunting their wealth. They must take lesson from these great personalities & refrain from flaunting their wealth & try to share their wealth for a great cause, such as education for the under privileged, health care for the poor & so many great cause.

By such act they will become a great person, otherwise they are only ordinary person with most ordinary thinking.

Share your wealth for the education of underprivileged. For the education of underprivileged you can help “Cry” & some other organization(reputed NGO’s) & make this world a better place to live in.
